How to Shift the Energy of Blocks, Fears and Baggage

When you dive into your issues in a deep conversation with a friend, or if you’ve ever had any type of psychotherapy or counseling, you know that naming the issue, accepting it, and coming to an understanding of it can really help you to let go of it or move on. This simple method of energy work can help you do the same.

  
Energy work can help you move on from fears, blocks, or emotional baggage - and you can do it yourself. 

Feeling into the energetic “charge” of a situation within your body allows the energy to shift. Just by observing the energy or the feeling associated with a troublesome situation, you give it the message that you “see it.” Giving it (that aspect of you) unconditional love and acceptance is all it needs to transmute into love itself.

Your issues manifest on a physical level because you were unprepared to deal with the primary incident that started it all. You were younger, less knowledgeable and less experienced – you simply did not have the resources available to do any better than you did. So you did the best you could with what you had. Let me repeat that – you did the best you could with what you had. This statement is the key to forgiveness. And it is from this space of forgiveness that you “observe without judgement” and send that aspect of yourself the unconditional love and acceptance it has been waiting for.

What you resist, persists. And the more you resist it, the more you entrench that energy in your body and the denser it becomes until it manifests physically. The law of attraction makes it so. The Universe says, “You want to resist that? OK, I’ll keep providing that energy for you to resist.”

Doing energy work on yourself can be as simple as focusing your attention to allow whatever you’re feeling to be acknowledged without judgment and without expectation. When you own your feelings in this way, the energy is free to flow and move on, instead of persist.

How to Elicit the Power of the Law of Attraction

Thoughts are concentrated bits of energy

In the application of the Law of Attraction, enjoyment, change and continuity are tied together: it is important to enjoy the changes you manifest in order to continue receiving more.

Consciously enjoying what you create is another way of being grateful for it, and being grateful is an important step in showing the Universe that you’d like more of the same, or that you recognize the gift in what you received. It helps you maintain positive energy so that you can continue to manifest with the law of attraction. 

Enjoying what you create also shows you are open to change. When you attract new things into your life, you are attracting change. Being grateful for it sends the message to the universe that you are willing to accept change, so the law of attraction can continue to work for you by presenting new opportunities (changes you may accept) to achieve your wishes.

You might be wondering what is meant by conscious enjoyment.  It’s not limited to a cursory thought about it, or stating a brief and singular “thank you.”  It’s a shift in your state of mind to maintain a level of gratitude, joy or pleasure on a daily basis. It can also include showing your enjoyment by choosing to do something special with, or because of, your new acquisition. “Actions speak louder than words” in the law of attraction too – when you DO something to show your appreciation of what you manifested, you are taking action to show what you want in your life, and you will continue to more powerfully pull positive things toward you.

When you consciously appreciate what you’ve got, you are more easily able to exclude negativity from your mindset. The more often you can keep your thoughts positive, the more positivity you will attract.  So it’s in your best interest to work on releasing any negative thoughts as soon as they enter your mind!  One way to help maintain a positive attitude is to surround yourself with the things you love most, so that you are constantly reminded of how abundant you are!

Most people have some fear around change. As humans, we are hardwired to stay safe and since the change you are seeking to manifest is not something you have personal experience with, your ego will often bring about feelings of fear, worry, or other negative emotions to try to protect you from the “scary unknown!”  This should not stop you from using the Law of Attraction; you simply need to be aware that it’s your overprotective ego who’s eliciting unnecessary angst and choose to override it. Choose something better. Remember that you deserve all the good things you want in life.

Thus, in order to elicit enjoyment, change and continuity and maximize your success with the law of attraction, you must align your thoughts, emotions and actions with gratitude and positivity in every way you can!

How Forgiveness Makes You Stronger, Not Weaker

Lack of forgiveness is a big obstacle to manifesting your desired life. This negative energy will block you from being able to manifest positive things in your life.  Remember, like attracts like – if you dwell on negative thoughts, you will attract negative events.

We have learned from society to be unforgiving; we learn to judge and punish ourselves and others for “bad” behaviour.  Most grudges arise out of our own judgements of someone’s actions or words that hurt us. It is the judgement of it being “bad” that ignites anger.  However, it would serve you well to remember that judgement is just a perspective. Don’t get caught in the trap of making a situation more terrible than it is.

Often times people may feel that a great injustice has been done to them and the only way they can exact any kind of punishment on the offender is to hold a grudge.  They may be thinking, “They’ll be sorry for what they did.” Others may be afraid to forgive because they want to remember what can happen if they find themselves in the same problematic situation again. They may say, “I’ll never fall for that again; lesson learned,” and then vow to never forgive or forget.

“You don’t have to hold on to the pain, to hold on to the memory.” -- Janet Jackson

The real victim when you choose not to forgive is YOU. You are the one who is thinking about it and generating emotional energy around it such as anger and resentment. Holding a grudge weakens you; it doesn’t make you stronger.  You are the victim of the event and then if you choose not to forgive, you remain the victim by reliving the event repeatedly.  The other person may simply be sorry and move on.

NOT forgiving is a waste of your manifesting energy! It requires double the effort and energy of forgiving because you have to work to maintain the grudge; you need to remember the bad event and then muster up the negative emotions to maintain the resentment. Since the law of attraction does not consider the past, only the present and your plans for the future, holding a grudge is just wasting your energy on something you cannot control or change because it’s in the past. The only thing you will manifest is more negativity.

You also must forgive yourself for your own past mistakes in order to be able to manifest something better.  If you don’t forgive yourself, you are instilling the belief that you don’t deserve anything better. You relive your mistakes and punish yourself repeatedly in the process. 

Forgiveness frees you from resentment and allows you to heal. With forgiveness comes the freedom from the cycle of negative thinking, and an opportunity to live a more joyful life. Set yourself free from the prison of being a victim. No longer relinquish control to your anger. Rise above it.

2 Minute Stress Buster

You have probably heard that stress is the number one cause of illness. Most people suffer from stress on a daily basis. 

When we are stressed, our bodies do not function optimally because it puts us in "fight or flight" mode, which causes elevated cortisol levels, overworked adrenals and shutting down of non-critical body functions.  Your cells stop receiving all the stuff needed for health and healing and focus on short-term emergency energy.  This worked great when we were neanderthals who ocassionally had to run from the sabre-tooth tiger, but today we often find ourselves living in this state most of the time. Our bodies can't tell if we are being threatened by imminent danger or by overwhelm from our busy lives.

I recently learned a quick way to destress that takes only 2 minutes and puts your brain in the Alpha state for 2-3 hours.  There are four distinct brain states that were discovered in th 1920s and 1930s. They are Delta, Theta, Alpha and Beta.  Beta is the most fully alert state, where we live most of the day. It's great for concentration and cognition, taking exams, playing sports, analyzing and organizing.  It's also the state of stress.  Alpha brain waves are all about relaxation, visualization and creativity. You are still awake and functional, but creative energy flows better, awareness expands, and you feel more peaceful. It's a great state for problem solving, finding new ideas and healing (it's within the same resonant frequency as the earth's electromagnetic field - the Schuman Resonance). Briefly, Theta is about meditation, intuition and memory. Delta is detached awareness, healing and sleep.

So for many times throughout the day, it would serve us better to be in Alpha than Beta because we are reducing stress and still functioning in a highly creative and connected state.  In the 1950s, brain researchers discovered a simple way to achieve this state, which has been replicated and improved many times over the past decades. The method I share below was taught to me by Dr. Alex Loyd, author of "The Healing Code" and "The Master Key."

Before you start, get comfortable and relaxed and assess your stress level from 0-10 - with 10 being unbearable stress.

1. Without moving your head, roll your eyes down as far as comfortable (it shouldn't feel difficult, or even slightly painful) and hold it for 15 seconds.

2. Roll your eyes up as far as comfortable for 45 seconds.

3. Roll your eyes down for 15 seconds.

4. Roll your eyes up for 45 seconds.

Now re-assess your stress level from 0-10 and enjoy your more peaceful state, which should last for 2-3 hours.  Repeat as necessary, but if you get a headache you are doing it too much, so do it less frequently. 

This is also incredibly helpful to do prior to any healing session, massage, Yoga, meditation, sleep, etc.  Having reduced your stress, by relaxing your brainwaves to Alpha state will allow you to receive healing more easily and also to get into meditation or sleep more quickly. Authentic Power - The Wisdom of Gary Zukav

learnI thought I'd share what I learned the other day from listening to the Gary Zukav webinar, called... "Authentic Power – How To Align Your Personality With Your Soul To Live An Awakened Life." 

I'd love to hear your thoughts....

The Four Keys [paraphrased]:

1. Develop your EMOTIONAL AWARENESS. You can’t develop spiritually if you aren’t aware of your emotions. Emotional awareness tells you when the loving and fearful parts of your personality are active. You will be able to recognize the fearful parts that create painful and destructive consequences if you follow them and the loving parts that will create healthy and constructive consequences if you follow them. 

2. From emotional awareness you then have the opportunity to choose your INTENTIONS consciously. Your deepest, root intentions are your creative power, whether fear-based or love-based. Be aware of what you are creating before you create it and make conscious, loving, fulfilling choices. And as you create authentic power, what benefits life, the earth, the people that you love (and that becomes everyone), also benefits you. Those are empowered choices.

3. Access the wisdom of your INTUITION to help you. You can experiment with it every time you aren't sure what to do, ask, "What is my intention? What is my motivation?" And you'll get support all the time.

4. Cultivate SPIRITUAL PARTNERSHIPS with friends, for the purpose of spiritual growth. You can start practicing by having them help you whenever you are saying things that could be out of fear and when you're saying things that are from love. Your spiritual partners can help you with that because they'll feel the emotion behind your statements even when it’s not clear to you. Spiritual partnerships support you in learning about yourself so that you can change yourself for the better.

“The message that we want to share with you right now is that it's not possible to grow spiritually in isolation. … In the past, it seemed that spiritual growth was something you did for yourself. It was like emotional maturation or psychological development or improvement as a person. Now, as you develop emotional awareness, responsible choice, awareness of your intuition and spiritual partnerships, it's all part of transforming the world because as you create authentic power, you become able to contribute differently to the world, to all of our social structures that are now disintegrating.

You begin to see there's a reason for that and it's a not a pathological reason; it's a profoundly positive phenomenon that we have entered, the dissolution of every structure into personal or social that is based upon the understanding of power and the ability to manipulate and to control, and the replacement of that with interpersonal and social structures that are based upon the intentions of the soul, harmony, cooperation, sharing and reverence for life.

And your ability to participate in that cannot be separated from your growth as a spiritual person, from your flowering as a spiritual person. The world cannot flower without you. It doesn't matter how fine the course of your endeavors, how noble and righteous they are, whether it is the transformation of global politics or the saving of the environment. If you are not aware of your own intentions, if you are not authentically powerful, you contribute more to the world of the very thing that created these problems that you think you are solving. As you create authentic power, you become a genuinely free, effective and powerful activist.”
